Every place has a story.

Cities are more than buildings and streets. They are shaped by the people who live, work and pass through them. Through guided exploration, observation, discussion and creative activities, students explore the voices, stories and perspectives that help define Amsterdam.

As they move through different parts of the city, students encounter different viewpoints and discover how different people understand and experience the same place. Along the way they collect photographs, sound recordings, quotations and observations that become the starting point for the second stage of the experience.

Students then create their own Amsterdam Through My Eyes map, curating what they have gathered into a personal response to the city. The finished map captures their discoveries and reflections in a unique response to Amsterdam.

Experiences can be tailored to different themes, communities and curriculum areas, helping students explore how people, places and stories connect.
