Creative programmes for young people and communities

FrameShift creates welcoming spaces where young people and community participants come together through theatre-making, storytelling, and shared creative practice. Programmes focus on participation, collaboration, and creative exploration, supporting confidence, connection, and a sense of belonging.

Work is ensemble-based and process-led, placing shared ownership and creative participation at the centre of each project. Programmes are developed collaboratively with participants and partners, emphasising creativity, inclusion, and collective experience rather than performance outcome alone.

Programmes are delivered independently or in partnership with local organisations, cultural institutions, and community groups.

FrameShift TheatreLab

Ensemble theatre-making for young people

Theatre Lab brings young people together to explore how theatre is created through collaborative ensemble practice. Participants develop original work while exploring performance, movement, storytelling, and devising within a supportive group environment.

Participants are encouraged to take on a range of creative roles beyond performing, including directing, design, sound, and creative leadership as part of the theatre-making process. The programme focuses on experimentation, collaboration, and developing ideas together over time.

Suitable for young people aged approximately 13–17. No previous theatre experience required. Led by experienced English- and Dutch-speaking theatre teachers and practitioners.

ActUP Theatre

One-week performance intensive for young people

ActUp Theatre is an intensive holiday programme where participants create, rehearse, and share an original performance as an ensemble. Working collaboratively, young people explore acting, movement, voice, and devising while also engaging with design, technical, and backstage roles.

The programme supports creative confidence, teamwork, and performance skills within a focused and supportive environment.

Suitable for young people seeking an immersive creative experience during school holidays. Delivered in English.

In Real Life

Community theatre and storytelling for adults

In Real Life brings adults together to create and share stories through collaborative creative practice. Using accessible theatre and storytelling approaches, participants develop scenes shaped by lived experience in a welcoming, supportive group setting.

Sessions focus on participation, connection, and creative exploration rather than prior theatre experience or performance training.

No previous theatre experience required. Delivered in Dutch, English, or bilingually, depending on context.

FrameShift Story Room

Creativity and shared storytelling for older adults and care communities

Story Room is a weekly theatre-informed creative space for older adults, using shared stories, conversation, and accessible creative activities to support connection, participation, and wellbeing. Sessions draw on storytelling and simple theatre-making approaches to create welcoming environments where participants can engage creatively at their own pace.

Designed for elder care settings, community organisations, or drop-in participation formats, Story Room supports social connection and a sense of belonging through shared creative experience.

Suitable for residential care homes, community centres, and older adult participation programmes. Delivered in Dutch, English, or bilingually.
