FrameShift Connect: Schools and Cultural Partners

Connecting international schools with museums, galleries, and cultural organisations.

We connect Dutch museums, galleries, and cultural organisations with international schools, designing partnerships that work for both sides.

Drawing on long-term experience in IB schools internationally and cultural coordination in the Dutch context, we support partners in shaping programmes that fit school timetables, language needs, and curriculum expectations, including bilingual delivery where helpful.

Example

Ongoing partnership with STRAAT Museum has supported cultural experiences and collaboration across international school contexts, including STRAAT’s contribution to the cultural programme for an upcoming ISTA festival hosted in Amsterdam.

Residencies, festivals, and intensives

We develop cultural projects that bring artists, students, and communities together through face-to-face collaboration and co-creation.

Example

A multi-arts festival hosted by an international school in Amsterdam brought primary and secondary students together with visiting artists and cultural partners, including STRAAT Museum and Jambo Afrika. Part-funded through Mocca, the programme marked a school anniversary and new campus opening with performance-making, capoeira, drumming, and a shared stencil and spray-painting mural celebrating the school and its local community.

Arts-based documentation and community storytelling

We create documentation projects that gather and share community stories over time, using approaches such as verbatim theatre, storytelling, and documentary theatre practice.

Projects are developed through careful facilitation and consent-led processes, and can function as a first step towards longer-term archive work.

Example

A verbatim-based documentation project within an international school gathered testimonies from across the community, including students, teachers, support staff, parents, and administration staff. Ethical process and consent formed the foundation for ongoing exploration of identity, culture, language, and belonging.

Youth-led creative projects with real responsibility

We design collaborative arts projects that support agency, confidence, and leadership through shared responsibility and real decision-making.

Young people take active roles in planning, shaping, and leading creative work, building collaboration and ownership through shared responsibility.

Example

An Arts Ambassadors programme supported students to plan and lead creative activity within the school community, building confidence and responsibility through genuine leadership roles, including participation in the ISTA Youth Leadership programme.

FrameShift Story Room

Creativity and shared storytelling for
older adults and care settings

A weekly theatre-informed creative space for older adults, led by experienced facilitators. Sessions use shared stories, conversation, and simple theatre-making to build connection and belonging.

Designed for elder care homes or community drop-in formats, delivered in Dutch, English, or bilingual.
