Explore. Question. Discover.
A mysterious suitcase arrives in the classroom. Inside is a travelling museum made up of unusual objects, old photographs, natural treasures, curious artefacts and mystery items waiting to be explored. Through observation, discussion, storytelling and role-play, students become curators, storytellers and explorers as they uncover the stories objects might tell and consider what they can reveal about people, places and ideas.
As their discoveries grow, students create exhibitions, displays and object stories inspired by the collections they explore. Through storytelling and role-play, they bring collections to life and explore the different stories objects can tell.
Workshops can be adapted to different ages, themes and learning goals. Collections might explore history, nature, culture, local communities, imagination or a current class topic. Longer projects can lead to classroom museums, student-curated exhibitions and opportunities to share collections, stories and discoveries with others.
